Modules to Learn Transfers - Introduction

The word transfer means moving from one place to another. We need to maintain this ability to remain independent or less dependent. If you are having problems performing any type of transfer, it’s helpful to know what you can do to reduce difficulties.

If you are a caregiver, it’s important to learn how to help someone to minimize strain on yourself AND the person you are helping.

The ‘bed mobility’ tab has 4 videos teaching you methods to help you move easier. Either independently or with assistance.

‘Car Transfers’: Your ability to get in/out of a car will depend on many factors which are Demonstrated with some options you can pick from which applies to your situation.

The next tab down ‘Chair Transfers’ has 4 videos. Part 1 gives you the core information and the remaining 3 videos discuss more situational recommendations such as tackling  dining room Chairs and how a caregiver can assist you.

Lastly, The ‘floor Transfer’ tab has 2 videos: the first one addresses how you can get up from the floor without the help of another person with step-by-step procedures. The second video shows how a caregiver can assist someone to minimize stain and optimize safety. Unfortunately not all the tabs have videos yet but I hope to complete them by the end of 2023. Thank you for your patience!
